It feels like just yesterday that we were summer-izing our demo fleet, then I walked out the door today to golden leaves on the trees and a crisp fall breeze in the air. This summer has flown by and I'm so excited to get the shop up and running again. There are too many new things this year to count and I can't wait to share them all with you this coming season.
Seasons are something I've been thinking a lot about as the winter approaches. For On The Edge, the change of seasons means fun changes in the world of snow sports too. When fall hits, we look at equipment best suited to early season conditions. Stiffer boards, sharper edges, and harder wax that slides and carves best on man-made snow and ice. We watch the snow and weather as it arrives so we can keep an eye on what's underneath in the backcountry. We break out the heavy repair equipment because we know that those of us chomping at the bit to get the first turns in will inevitably find the first rocks too. As winter comes into full swing we look at colder waxes, wider and more playful skis, and we watch the snow forecasts like a hawk so we're ready to go at the first flake. Spring requires the most complicated tuning techniques as we have to accommodate for ice in the morning, corn at midday, and slush in the afternoon. But the challenge is what makes it fun.
It's more than that though. Seasons are something we all go through in life, and not just as the temperature rises and falls. Sometimes life feels like a blissful, never-ending run of waist-deep powder, and other times it's a summer hurricane with no end in sight. Life happens. We make new friends and we lose old ones. New doors open as old ones close, and through it all, we have a God who's with us always and gives us a community to surround and support us. I'm so thankful for what God has done in and through On The Edge and for allowing us to be a part of such a great community.
No matter what season you're in, On The Edge is here to be a part of your adventures. As we begin our 7th year, our focus is still on making sure you have the best service and equipment available to get out and enjoy all that winter has to offer. Thank you for letting us continue to serve you for another season and, as always... LET IT SNOW!!!
