2012/13 Season
This has been a long time coming and I am thrilled that this dream is finally becoming a reality. I grew up in Edwards, Colorado where a love of the mountains is just part of life. My parents, who are two of the most talented skiers I know, gave me a passion for the sport that took it from being simply an outdoor activity to something that could make you feel more alive. The mission of On The Edge Tuning is to be an extension of that passion. The joy and excitement that I personally get from this sport is something that I think everyone should be able to experience!
For years, my Dad was a ski tech in Chicago and the Vail Valley. Growing up, I had the privilege of spending lots of time in the tech shops watching, learning, and buffing out a waxed ski here and there. This unique insight into the world of ski tuning taught me how much more there is to it than most people realize. If there's one thing I've learned in my years being a professional ski tech, it's that ski tuning is an art. Most ski shops today are like fast food restaurants. You walk in, say a number, and that's it. There is so much more to it than that, but you can't just take my word for it, you have to experience it.
My Grandpa has a phrase that he uses for everything in life: "Be bold for the Lord!" Skiing is not only an awesome activity to do in the winter, but an awesome way to get out and experience God's creation. I want On The Edge Tuning to be so much more than your average ski shop. I want it to not only be the place you take your skis to get tuned, but the place you go to ask questions about what skis to buy, tell your latest mountain story, or to discuss the newest backcountry trip you're thinking about taking. Most of all, I want this shop to be bold.
Now, if you've read to here and looked at the Why get your skis tuned? page and still don't think that a proper tune can make all the difference, then I propose a challenge: let On The Edge Tuning do your next ski tune and I'll prove it to you, GUARANTEED! If you aren't completely satisfied we'll either re-tune your skis or give you a full refund. I am so excited to share the 2012-2013 season with all of you and look forward to getting to know you!
Let it snow!
